A Superior Technique for Structural Strength and Sealing

NO Days Glaze is designed to enhance the seal and bond strength of your stained glass windows. The advantage of NO Days Glaze is in its ability to provide a strong bond and waterproof seal using all 3 sides of the metal came and glass surfaces. When packaged with the benefits of ease-of-use, time-savings, and low cost installation, NO Days Glaze is the ideal product for building quality stained glass windows.

Surface Area = Strength

Compare the Differences

Diagram A represents the traditional putty or cement method and how an unknown volume solution fails to seal and bond by using only minimal metal came and glass surface areas:

Putty or CementNDG-3-side-advantage-putty.gif

  • Layout and assemble your window
  • Mix the putty or cement
  • Brush putty or cement into 1 side of the window
  • Clean Up
  • Wait days to cure (sometimes longer)
  • Flip window over
  • Brush putty or cement into the other side of the window
  • Clean Up
  • Wait days to cure (sometimes longer)

Inconsistent Formulation / Variation Minimal Bond Area / Approx. 0.120 in2 (0.77cm2) Creates Weak Bond Single Joint Strength Test: Failed at less than 1 psi ** Difficult to work with / Inhaled Fume Byproduct

Diagram B represents when using the NO Days Glaze Method you are able to take advantage of ALL 3 sides of the metal came and glass surfaces:

NO Days Glaze

  • Insert the NO Days Glaze into the metal came channel
  • Place glass piece against the NO Days Glaze surface
  • Glass is heated with a heat gun near the metal came
  • Briefly allow glass to cool while you move on to your next piece
  • When you are done with your window assembly, you are DONE!

Consistent Formulation / No Variation Seals and Bonds ALL Surfaces = 0.205in2 (1.32cm2) Creates Strong Bond Single Joint Strength Test: 22 psi ** Safe / NON-Toxic / No Fumes

The Road to Building a Stronger Stained Glass Window

Inside Out Vs Outside In

The Inside Out method using NO Days Glaze allows you to take advantage of ALL available surfaces by placing the NO Days Glaze into the metal came channel FIRST versus brushing the putty or cement in LAST. A slight change in process allows you to take advantage of all the NO Days Glaze benefits including strength, seal, cleanliness, and ease-of-use.

Single Joint Strength Test

Our single lead came joint strength test shows NO Days Glazer can hold 2 pieces of glass using one piece of lead came up to a force of 22 psi. When testing cured putty or cement under the same test conditions, the joint failed immediately at less than 1 psi. The superior bonding ability of NO Days Glaze allows for exponential window strength as more joints are assembled together to form the final window.

*** Test data based upon 3/16" (0.188", 4.78mm) lead came channel width
