Glue Film is the perfect adhesive for UTEE embellishments!

Print Project Instructions

Supplies:

  • (2) 8 ½ x 11 sheets of Glue Film
  • Adirondack Acrylic Dabber in Pitch Black – Ranger Industries
  • (1) 8 oz jar of Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE) in Clear – Ranger Industries
  • Ultra Thick Embossing Enamels in Violet, Green Zinnia, Sunflower and Tiger Lily – Ranger Industries
  • Melting Pot – Ranger Industries
  • Non-Stick Craft Sheet – Ranger Industries
  • Malma mirror - Ikea
  • Scissors
  • Heat Gun
  • Heart-shaped silicone molds

Instructions:

  1. Paint the entire mirror frame with the black acrylic paint and set aside to dry.
  2. Turn the Melting Pot on, add the clear UTEE to the fill line, then sprinkle in 2 Tablespoons of the Violet UTEE.  Put the lid back on the melting pot.
  3. Once the UTEE has melted completely, gently stir the Violet UTEE around until you get a marbled look (don’t mix it all the way in).
  4. Pick up the pot with both hands and pour an even layer of the melted UTEE onto the non-stick craft sheet.
  5. Once the UTEE is hard to the touch but still warm, lift the piece off of the sheet and cut into random pieces with a pair of scissors.
  6. Continue making tiles in this manner until you have enough to cover the mirror frame.
  7. Use some of the other UTEE colors, the Melting Pot and the silicone molds to make three hearts.
  8. Cut four 3” x 7” pieces of Glue Film.  Use the heat gun to warm the mirror frame slightly and carefully lay down the Glue Film strips to cover the frame.
  9. Working in sections, heat a small area of the Glue Film and quickly attach the tiles.  Be careful not to overheat any tiles that have already been attached.  Once the mirror has cooled, it’s ready to be hung!

Helpful Hints: Before beginning the project, trace the mirror onto a piece of paper.  Use this as a template to layout your tiles before you begin to attach them to the mirror.
