| Distress if you think its Best! | |
Want to change the look of your GlueFoil? Simple...before or after embossing, lightly sand with fine grain sand paper. If embossed, this will distress the high points giving your project a more aged or antique look. Hammer It! After applying GlueFoil, to add a more distressed look, simply hammer the foil to dent it. This can give you project a custom and unique look.
GlueFoil's multi-purpose design can be heat applied using many different heating methods. The type of method used depends on your setup and what you are trying to accomplish. GlueFoil can be cut to intricate shapes if necessary and be used (for example) as an embellishment to be adhered to a variety of common crafting materials. Always keep in mind that the materials you are working with need to be able to withstand some direct heat or heat transfer. Applying heat to the surface of the GlueFoil will allow heat to transfer through the foil activating the GlueFilm Adhesive underneath. When allowed to cool, the adhesive will cure securing your foil to your mounting surface.

Note: hair dryers are temperature regulated by design and depending on your hair dryer, some may or may not be able to heat gluefoil to a required elevated temperature of 160F/71C.
Re-Heat to Re-Work....can your adhesive or foil do this? A unique characteristic of GlueFoil is in it's ability to be easily re-worked unlike other tradtional liquid or cement adhesives or foils. Once you heat and cure GlueFoil, it can be easily re-worked by simply re-heating. No more having to "break your bond" after curing and risk damaging your foil or other materials you are working with in the process. GlueFoil cannot be re-activated by indoor or outdoor temperatures due to its elevated phase-change temperature of 160F/71C (point at which it is heated and turns from a solid to a liquid).
