| How to Create Interior Mosaics Decor with Q Stik | Heat, Cool & Stick! |
Step 1: Cut the Q Stik Mosaic Adhesive Film to the size you wish to mosaic using scissors or a craft blade. If necessary, you can work in sections and piece them together when mounting to assemble your final mosaic. Place the Q Stik on your work surface with the heat activated side facing up. |  |
Step 2: Secure the Q Stik to a heat proof surface using long pins or thumb tacks. Securing the Q Stik on the corners and edges allow tiles to be easily placed on the surface of the adhesive. Begin placing tiles (ceramic, glass or wood) on top of the heat activated adhesive side. |  |
Step 3: Using a heat gun or embossing heat tool set to low, begin heating the tiles. Heat gradually by moving the heat tool slowly across the tiles, back and forth, until the adhesive starts to liquify. Using a pair of tweezers, push the tiles into position placing slight pressure to set them into the liquified adhesive. Once the tiles are positioned, remove the heat source and allow the tiles to cool (3 to 5 minutes). Re-work: To reposition or remove the bonded tiles, simply re-heat. During this step, use a heat proof tool like tweezers to position the tiles are they are heated. Allow to briefly cool to bond. |  |
| Step 4: Before mounting your mosaic, clean the mounting surface with a dry cloth. The mounting surface should be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil and debris |  |
Step 5: Slowly peel away the white paper backing to expose the industrial strength mounting adhesive and slowly place down on your substrate using light pressure. Continue to peel away white paper backing until the mosaic is fully mounted (peel in the same fashion, for example, as you would to lay down contact paper). You can also cut your mosaic into smaller pieces and mount individually. |  |
| Step 6: Once your mosaic is mounted, it is immediately ready for grouting. |  |
